Interactive Editing
We will finish our IAE Sample on Jaguars. This will serve as a model when students work independently on their own text-their favorite rainforest animal! We will focus on using correct punctuation( periods, commas, hyphens, parentheses, etc. ) and on writing a variety of rich ideas (developing ideas like good wirtes do! )
Independent Writing
Students will summarize and write their own ideas for the oral presentation. They will be using Interactive Editing to summarize the information.
Students will also respond to the following prompts bases on the story, Miss Rumphius:
1) Where would you like to live when you grow up?
2)What would you like to do when you are older?
3) What would you do to make the world more beautiful?
Oral presentation
We will continue to work on our oral presentation skills. This week we will focus on the preparation phase- summarizing and knowing the topic well!
Students will also participate in Independent Reading, Writing Cycles, and Book Clubs.
